MG TD Wiring Harness Removal
Duane Aboudara
Springfiled, VA
When removing the old harness through the license plate light, attach a light gauge wire to the disconnected wires and then pull out the old harness. The wire can then be connected to the new wire when the old harness wire is removed, then pulled back to the license plate light for reconnection. The wire should be at least 36"-48" long. Be sure to tape the connection and make as small (and neat) a bundle as possible. Also, when removing the main harness from rear to front, tape and reconnect the wire to the old harness and, after pulling it out the engine compartment, reconnect the new harness to it and reverse the process. The wire should be about 6 feet long to be safe. It works quite nicely.
(This is a good way to do the front marker and headlights, too.)
