    Front Suspension

MG TD/TF, MGA Front Suspension Rebuild
Rebuilding the front suspension on the MG TD/TF or MGA is a simple operation which can vastly improve the handling abilities of your car. However, people often wind up having to buy expensive swivel pins or trunnions because they have forgotten to remove the steel tubes (#264-070) from the upper and lower trunnions before unscrewing the swivel pin. Close inspection of the pin will reveal a groove cut in the middle of each thread. When the parts are assembled, the steel tube passes through the trunnion and interlocks with the groove in the pin. Unscrewing the swivel pin with the tube in place will result in either the trunnion, pin, or both being destroyed. Don't be afraid to rebuild your front end. Just remember to pull out those tubes before unscrewing the pin. The job will cost a lot less time, money and frustration if you do.
