I'm a bit confused about your use of the term "plug type" or "Slip In".
The critical thing about the coil is that it is a non-ballasted 12V unit. Most American coils and ones for late model cars are designed to have an external ballast. If you use one of these, your points will melt down.
The original coil as shown in the catalog has a threaded top, and a plastic nut is used to hold the bare wire into the coil.
If you are looking for a more modern coil designed for a plug in type coil wire (modern design) you can use the early MGB coil, but this has the same connector as the current Lucas Sports Coil, so I'm a bit confused.
