    Hood Hinge Bolt

Help!  How do you remove the hood hinge bolt that holds the hinge to the firewall or a 65 Sprite?  The dashboard is out, so I can get to the bolt, but it won't come loose, and I'm afraid that I'll wring it off.  Because of the location, it's difficult to use Kroil.  It's difficult to tell, but I think the bolt threads into a captured nut.

I've use Kroil, and it was useless. If it's safe to do so, you might try applying a little heat to the bolt with a small propane torch. Also, try whacking the bolt head with a hammer - If it's rusted tight, that may help to loosen its grip.

Thanks!  I'll try anything short of a blow torch at this point.  I do think that if heat is applied to the bolt, that it will grow in size, and become tighter  .  The trick would be to apply heat to the captured nut, but it's not exactly accessible!  I'll definitely try whacking it with a hammer, and will let you know.
