    Re: Getting irritated slowly!

The new needle has made no difference. Problem still there.  Someone suggested this carb (HS2) should have a GX as opposed to an EB.  Any ideas? Thoughts? Help!

The fuel pressure gauge appears to be MIA despite numerous promises...

Something I noticed while playing with the mixture adjustment was that I was unable to tune the engine without the air cleaner in place. Both manuals I have state that you should remove the air cleaner and then follow their procedures.  With the air cleaner off the engine would not idle.  Even holding the gas pedal in one position produced uneveness in the rpm.  Is this usual?  None of the other vehicles I have owned ever had this issue (a Hillman, a VW Beetle, a few Renaults, a few Toyota's)

Humm it should run pretty much the same with the filter off mate! You should have the same amount of air flow with or without the filter on? The filter is only there to stop small particles of dust or debree being sucked in! something not right there man?
