    Uh...I overfilled the engine oil.

Somehow, when I changed my engine oil and filter today, I put in too much oil. It's about an 1/8th of an inch over the max line on the dipstick. In all my years of changing my oil, I've never gone over the max line. So my question is, will this do any damage to my engine?

Before I changed the oil, I spent the better part of the morning running back and forth to town doing errands, getting things for Mother's Day, etc. The top was down and I LOVED IT!!!

I'm with Bill. I beleve the problems occur when the oil gets high enough for the crank to thrash the oil to foam. Then the foam is pumped into the system. Sound about right Bill?

I'll take it. Lost 3 pints yesterday [:'(]

Besides, if you've yet to run the engine, you may find it drops a bit once the filter & lines refill.

You're assuming that your dipstick is accurate to begin with.  Don't worry about it.
