I have the dual master cylinder brakes on my 73 Midget which I purchased recently. The brakes were poor and in my troubleshooting I found that the master cylinder was bad and the rear brakes weren't being actuated. I dissassembled the master cylinder and found the link between the main piston and secondary piston had broken. This allowed the secondary piston (which drives the rear brakes) to stop returning properly resulting in the failure of the rear brakes.
My problem is that I can't find this link. Its just a small loop of hardened metal. Other than this the cylinder appears to be in good shape. I looked at the rebuild kit, but this link is not in the kit. I hate to buy an entire master cylinder just because this little clip is broken.
Does anybody know where I can source this link?
