    New project; New Member

Hi, I just picked up my first British car.  I am very excited to begin this project.  A "60's British Sports car" has been on my "list", and within a few miles of my house, this 1969 MGB showed up in someone's front yard with a for sale sign and an asking price of $1299.

The guy purchased the car in 1974, and went through a rough divorce in '82 where his wife siezed most of the assets and a 8 year battle endured.  He finally got his car back in 1990, after it sat in his father-in-law's warehouse for the 8 years with the slave cylinder removed.  He stuck it in his garage, hoping to one day get it back on the road, but 18 years later he decided it needed to go.  It has 68k miles.

    ETA: I paid $900 for it :)

It's a steal! Good going man! Welcome to the club.
On their death bed, nobody ever said, "Gee I wish I'd spent more time at work!"

    Excellent! Welcome to the fold.

It looks like you have the basis for a very tidy car there.

Way to go, sounds like you got a good deal.  Looks like a solid car!  Have fun.

Crisis doesn't necessarily make character, but it certainly does reveal it.
