New owner - Pertronics ignition question

Has anyone installed a pertronics ignition module on a Sprite? We're new owners and my husband would like to install one for our 1969 Sprite.

I have had the petronics in my 68 Midget for two years and it runs great.  The 65 midget that I have sold and am finishing this week also has one.  I highly recommend it.  It is easy to install and I have had not problems with it.

I installed a Pertronix on my 73 Midget and it works very well. Dont leave the ingition on without the engine running  for very long or you will burn it out and always keep a set of points and condensor in the car just in case.

I installed the Pertronix ignitor kit in my '51 TD, which is a distant ancestor of your Midget.  I will never put the old points system back in!  It's amazing just how much better the engine will start, idle, accelerate, and cruise at speed.  Worth every nickel!

I also installed one in my '71 Midget, and it's been trouble-free and works great. And a friend put one in his 1963 Ford Galaxie, on my recommendation, and loves it. You can forget about it after you install it. I bought it from CBS Performance Automotive for $79 with free shipping several years ago. Here's the link to their website. Don't know the cost now, but it's worth checking out.

Don't forget to replace the ROTOR! That's the most common problem with these installations!

I love mine, but be aware that the optical transducer type is ALSO available.
