Moss Motors, Ltd

Will an exhaust manifold from a 76 1500cc engine work on a 79 1500cc engine. This is a California car. Moss makes a distiction between the two but doesn't say what the difference is.

After looking at what is on our exhaust page (LINK), I can see that the manifold gaskets are the same for all the years - so the pipe layout seems the same. My best guess would be that it is the actual shape of the pipes that is going to be your difference - likely something to do with the emission controls.

But, more to the point, we have alerted our experts to your question, so one of them should be able to answer your query more fully soon enough.

THe manifold I found has a heat shield riveted on one side with an air? duct coming off it. It sounds like a modification to me since I don't see that on the new manifolds for the Ca cars. The part is listed on Ebay. Any thought you have are greatly appreciated.
