ddubois, i disagree, When I changed my wheel cylinders last year, the only spanners I used were metric.  When I work on my MG, i never touch my american size spanners. joel

  • steering wheel

anyone, I found this steering wheel (see avatar) it is off of a 1977 mgb.  The seller claims it is original, but it does not look like the wheel on my 1976.  the seller claims that it is compatable with my 1976.  I would like to get your opinions before I make my purchase. thanks, joel

davey,    yes, I will sell it as is.  I am done working on it.  I will put parts back on it that I have taken off.  I also have many spare parts that will go with the car, including the original engine block.    I am 50 miles east of cleveland.    fireman

if you guys are telling me that this problem is THAT BIG, and THAT HARD TO FIX, then I think I'm done.  I don't have that kind of time and money to put into this thing, let alone someone who can come over and help me with the thing who accually knows what their doing.  I told my wife that if I couldn't get it running by ...

poolboy,   I did mean the haynes manual.    I took the spark plugs out and tried to turn the fan.  it does turn, with some effort.  the belt that is attached the the pully on the fan turns with the fan, but, the lower pully that the engine should turn does not turn at all.  I am guessing from what you have said ...

  • Re: no spark when cranking on my 77 mgb

I tested my starter/solenoid and found that it was bad.  So I have purchases a new one and installed it.  I still have power to the coil. I have a spark at the distributor, but no spark at the plugs.  From what I have found out, the next step would be to replace the distributor cap and rotor.  Is there any way to test the ...

poolboy,   Thanks for the info.  You give me a good place to start again with my trouble.     trust me, I have been trying to learn as much as possible about this car.  Whether it be manuals, friends, this forum, internet, or even just playing with the car myself.  I have accually solved some of my problems on ...
