  • Fuel sending unit question

Does anybody know the Ohm range for the stock sending unit. Mine is long gone, and I want to install a RCI Aluminum Fuel Cell. The sending unit on this tank is 0-90 Ohms. Will it work on my stock Smith gauge?   Thanks Doug D

  • Breif severe smoking a few minutes after startup

Greetings all!  I have a problem with an otherwise (mostly) perfect restoration, and reading in this forum, I see that others have experienced this too but may not have found the cause.  Here are some of my observations. As a background, my '72 Midget (1275) has had a top to bottom restoration done on all of it and I've been ...

  • Distributor Or Twin SU'S/

Hi, I am new to this site so here go’s. My Midget’s 1275 engine is running very lumpy. I bought it as a none runner. The distributor was off but in the boot ready to go on.Also, the twin Su’s were off and in the boot. I have now refit them and set the static timing. I now have the engine ticking over but very lumpy. I have tried ...

  • MG TA Colours

Hi, I have just got a 1937 MG TA c/No. TA/1068.  The Engine is bright red at the moment and I was wondering if that is correct(Moss parts list says green, but I've never seen a green one). And what colour should the brake drums be?

  • Re: To change the colour or not.

I would most definitely keep the original color.  The only way to change the color without taking away from the car would be to TOTALLY break down the car, paint EVERYTHING including engine compartment, trunk, sills, etc. then put it back together.  Anything less would not do the car justice as rather than looking restored it would look ...

  • Seat Holes 1955 TF

I have found two small holes in each side of the back of my 1955 TF seats.About 1/2 of the distance from the top.  What went there?  Why is there a snap on the lower back door side of each seat? I just got the car. It appears to be all original except for the red Tonneau cover with zippers on the sides. Is this the right forum to ask?

  • Resurecting a Texas T

I have inherited a 1952 TD from my father and have been in the process of restoring it for about 5 years now.  It belonged to my Aunt in Texas for at least 20 years prior to my Dad getting it.  It had a "B" engine and drive trane and had a lot a of butchering done to it (What a mess).  After much weeping and Knashing of ...

  • MGA body

What is the best way to remove the body shell from an MGA?  My problem is complicated by the fact that inner sills and panels have been replaced by brazed homade metal of dubious quality.  I want to maintain alignment and prevent the whole works from  buckling.  Should I replace those sinister parts one by one  and then ...
