DEW & Dick,
There are couple of general British car clubs closer to DEW than either the Portland or Salem groups. Clearly, the closest is the British Car Club of Southern Oregon, based in the Medford area. The president of the BCCSO is Don Evans who lives in Medford. I don't want to put his email or phone number out in ...

Newbie here.
My XPEG TF engine needs overhaul - at least I think it does. I know #1 cyl. is down and I've got lots of oil leaks that shouldn't be. The eng. is the only thing that wasn't touched when I started a ground up restoration as compression was good and it was running fine when I started the restoration. What a mistake - ...

I recently bought a 1954 MGTF. The S/N # is HDC46/3936 and body # is 13478. The paint on the exterior is a deep blue, but has layers of light yellow and red underneath it. Does anyone know what the original color of this car should be? Also, the seats are covered in red. Thanks for any help.

I purchased my 1954 MGTF in 1975 and used it to commute to Rutgers University. I am now 56 years old 6'4'' and the car has shrunk since college days. I remember reading articles about doing something with the break and clutch pedals to gain a bit more room. Any specific help will be appreciated.
I guess I used to tolerate pain better back in the ...

Gentlemen,
I have a TF with a 1250 cc engine. It has been running rough for a few weeks now. I put in new NGK plugs, part number BPR7ES, gapped to .021. New plug wires and original style, wire to plug connectors from Moss. Also a new rotor and distributor cap. I left the coil alone because it tested OK with a volt meter. The car ...

What's the best way to change out the brake light switch on a TF? My
switch failed in the on position and I've got a new switch on order.
I'm now having visions of lots of brake fluid draining out of my system
while I try to thread the new switch into the 4-way coupling. Has
anybody got any experience doing this?

Please help with a little detail info:
I have new quarters and inner fenders to install on my old MGTF. Are the inner fenders fastened to the rear quarters on a MGTF? I do not have a good example due to old rust repairs on my car of what was originally installed. My thought is that the inner fenders are spot welded to the ...

I am working on rebuilding a 1954 TF-1500 that my father disassembled to the last washer back in 1976 (except for the engine and transmission). The car sat this way until 1990 when he subsequently passed away and left me with this marvelous jigsaw puzzle. I've got a nice selection of manuals, catalogs, tools, etc. for the car. I've ...

I have just put a '54 TF back on the road after sitting for 25 years (to date only 125 miles). My concern is it appears to heat up when either climbing hills, or taking the speed up to 55. Going down hill, or holding 45 MPH the temp gauge holds 85* C. Climb a hill of a few 100 yards or hold 55 for a few miles and ...

I'm new to the forum and MG ownership.
I took over ownership of a 55 TF1500 from my father two years ago. He restored it in 1984 and it has not had a lot of miles put on since then. The end of last year it started with an occasional metalic clanking that seemed to be associated with the gearbox/clutch. When the sound would occur pressing or ...
