Genuine Wide Whitewall Tire

Wide whitewall tires feature a continuous band of bright white rubber that extends all the way to the bead, unlike narrow whitewalls which stop short and expose less white surface. The white rubber is integrated during the tire's initial construction and becomes a permanent part of the sidewall after vulcanization, resulting in a high-quality, durable finish. This style was especially popular into the early 1960s before being largely replaced by narrower whitewall designs.

Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction was commonly used from the early 1900s through the 1970s on passenger cars and light trucks. The ply cords are arranged at a 45-degree angle to the bead and overlap in a crisscross pattern, creating a strong and durable structure. While this design provides strength and authenticity, bias ply tires can be more prone to following road irregularities compared to modern radial tires.
