XK 150s used three methods to support the boot/trunk panel: a telescoping stay rod, a conventional prop rod as shown here, and no rod at all as the latest hinges incorporated an additional "stay" function. Many restorers prefer this simple rod as the telescoping version and later hinges can cause panel distortion and seal leaks.

The assembly incorporates the rod and upper pivot bracket assembly. Please note that if this configuration is retrofitted to an earlier or later car, receiver bracket BD15568 must be welded to the inner boot lip area by the tail lights and BD3839 spring clip and BD9160 backing plate must be attached to the boot lid underside to hold the rod when not in use. These items must be purchased separately.

  • Moss Motors, Ltd. will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that fails in service within the warranty period. This warranty does not cover labor, failure of related components, normal wear of brake or clutch components or failure resulting from alteration, misuse, accidental damage, faulty installation, or faulty repair.
  • Warranty requests should be submitted to our sales department and must be supported by the original Moss Motors purchase invoice and documentation of the failure.
