Front Crankshaft Seal, Upgraded

Late in Series III XJ6 production, Jaguar introduced an upgraded front crankshaft seal with a PTFE (Teflon) sealing surface. (Read our edited version of the Parts Bulletin here.) Jaguar recommended that the new seal be fitted to all "XK" six-cylinder engines, apart from XK120, and earlier XK140 and MK VII that used a rope seal. (We have a seal conversion kit for those cars; see part number 21-1153.) Also note that they recommended crankshaft distance piece C40147 and O-Ring EAC8101, which were only factory fitted to late Series II E-Type from engine 7R.13199 (coupe and roadster) & 7R.40326 (2+2) plus all XJ6. For all other six-cylinder applications, those pieces must be purchased separately. The seal may be purchased as part of kit 10527 or separately under part number EAC8815.

- All Classic British products are warrantied to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of invoice.
- All superchargers, supercharger components, and supercharger hardware are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from date of invoice.
- Moss Motors, Ltd. will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that fails in service within the warranty period. This warranty does not cover labor, failure of related components, normal wear of brake or clutch components or failure resulting from alteration, misuse, accidental damage, faulty installation, or faulty repair.
- Warranty requests should be submitted to our sales department and must be supported by the original Moss Motors purchase invoice and documentation of the failure.
