Library | The Triumph TR
Considered among the most desirable sports cars ever built, the Triumph TRs were renowned for their strong performance, rugged construction and iconic styling.
In this beautiful book, award-winning historian John Nikas explores the development of the TR models from the motorcycles to the motorcars that were to become a legendary sports car brand: the Triumph TRs. Candidly written, The Triumph TR talks about how the early models TRX and 2OTS paved way for the TR2: the car that truly embodied the TR DNA, and how it was followed by TR3 and TR3A which had more power and body options along with disc brakes that allowed power to be exploited with confidence. Interspersed with the story of the evolution of the Triumph cars are some rare historical photos that lend perspective on the engineering, design, and the people who were a part of the history of these cars. As you go along the Triumph journey, you get a glimpse into the Italian styling that came with the Michelotti-designed sleek sports car TR4, succeeded by the more powerful TR5 and the TR6. From this you can glean why the Triumphs were a formidable presence in the international track and circuit competitions, especially the TR4s which performed amazingly in the United States.
With impressive colored portraits by Marc Volgers and an engaging narrative by the author, this book should be your go to book for everything you need to know about the Triumph cars. Also, it will be a wonderful addition to all things that profess your love for cars and history.
