Five-Speed Transmission Conversion Kit, Mk II

Our five-speed transmission kits are based on the venerable Tremec (formerly Borg-Warner) T-5, but are hand-assembled with custom components for each Jaguar application. Why install a five speed? First, as far as feel and ease-of-use are concerned, these gearboxes are worlds apart from the original transmissions fitted to MKII's, which are pleasingly vintage but rough and slow. Our five speeds bring the transmission up to modern standards and eliminate what's arguably the most anachronistic feature of early Jaguars. Second, many internal components are no longer available for Jaguar gearboxes, so a five-speed is sometimes the only alternative to a terminallyill standard box. Third, with a five-speed, you gain an additional gear (not to mention a synchronized first gear), making for excellent 1-4 ratios with an overdrive fifth for more relaxed cruising at highway speeds.
Kits include new transmission (not rebuilt), adapter plate, shift lever position adapter, speedo cable adapter (standard speedo cable retained), mounting kit and clutch disc. Standard ratios are 2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00, 0.63. A .80 fifth gear is available at extra cost. A driveshaft isnËÇÖt included -- have a local shop modify your original or make a new unit. This kit is for manual transmission conversions only; it does not include parts to convert from an automatic transmission.
The Longest in the Business
- All Classic British products are warrantied to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of invoice.
- All superchargers, supercharger components, and supercharger hardware are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from date of invoice.
- Moss Motors, Ltd. will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that fails in service within the warranty period. This warranty does not cover labor, failure of related components, normal wear of brake or clutch components or failure resulting from alteration, misuse, accidental damage, faulty installation, or faulty repair.
- Warranty requests should be submitted to our sales department and must be supported by the original Moss Motors purchase invoice and documentation of the failure.
