High-Torque Starter

As detailed in a June 1972 parts bulletin and occurring at Engine 7S.7001, Jaguar updated the V-12 E-Type starter and relevant flywheel or drive plate. Early starters are stamped with Lucas number 26327 and have a 29mm diameter pinon gear. The later starter is stamped 26381 and has a 25mm diameter pinion gear. (Both original gears have 9 teeth.) Along with your engine number, use this information to ensure you order the correct replacement starter.
This early application starter fits V12 E-Type up to Engine 7S.7000. These cars were originally equipped with Lucas starter number 26327, which is stamped in the starter body. Please check these important details before ordering.
The pinion gears on gear reduction starters differ in size and tooth count compared to the original Lucas starters. (DonËÇÖt worry, they work great and have done so for decades.) Because of these differences, using the early vs. late pinion differences on original Lucas starters is not an accurate means to determine which gear-reduction starter is appropriate for your application.

This warranty does not cover labor, failure of related components, normal wear of brake or clutch components or failure resulting from alteration, misuse, accidental damage, faulty installation, or faulty repair.
- Warranty requests should be submitted to our sales department and must be supported by the original Moss Motors purchase invoice and documentation of the failure.
