Few tire shops can properly balance wire wheels as specialty cones are required to ensure the wheel is held to the balancing machine on the same true axis as when fitted to the car. When done so, the result is a perfectly balanced wheel/tire combination and a smooth ride. Moss Classic Jaguar carries these tools in several versions. Smoothride Cones are reasonably priced and made from a lightweight but extremely strong glassreinforced injection molding and are easily carried with you. Four kits are available: 37-1065 is for 42 mm hubs (as fitted to the vast majority of non-Jaguar British cars); 37-1066 is for 52 mm hubs as fitted to Jaguar MK I, MK II, 3.4S/3.8S, 420 and all E-Types; 37-1067 is a combination 42 mm/52 mm kit and 37-1068 is for "deep-draw" 52 mm hubs as fitted to Jaguar XK-120, XK-140, XK-150, and Aston Martin DB1 and DB2. As supplied, Smoothride Cones will fit 36 mm and 40 mm balancing machine arbors. To use with a 28.5 mm (nominal 11/8") arbor, order part 37-1069 separately.
The Longest in the Business
- All Classic British products are warrantied to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of invoice.
- All superchargers, supercharger components, and supercharger hardware are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from date of invoice.
- Moss Motors, Ltd. will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that fails in service within the warranty period. This warranty does not cover labor, failure of related components, normal wear of brake or clutch components or failure resulting from alteration, misuse, accidental damage, faulty installation, or faulty repair.
- Warranty requests should be submitted to our sales department and must be supported by the original Moss Motors purchase invoice and documentation of the failure.
